this?\n\nThis package is a [unified][] ([remark][]) plugin that defines how to take\nmarkdown as input and turn it into a syntax tree.\n\nThis plugin is built on [`mdast-util-from-markdown`][mdast-util-from-markdown],\nwhich in turn uses [`micromark`][micromark] for parsing markdown into tokens and\nturns those into [mdast][] syntax trees.\nremark focusses on making it easier to transform content by abstracting such\ninternals away.\n\n**unified** is a project that transforms content with abstract syntax trees\n(ASTs).\n**remark** adds support for markdown to unified.\n**mdast** is the markdown AST that remark uses.\n**micromark** is the markdown parser we use.\nThis is a remark plugin that defines how input markdown is turned into mdast.\n\n## When should I use this?\n\nThis plugin adds support to unified for parsing markdown.\nYou can alternatively use [`remark`][remark-core] instead, which combines\nunified, this plugin, and [`remark-stringify`][remark-stringify].\n\nYou can combine this plugin with other plugins to add syntax extensions.\nNotable examples that deeply integrate with it document CLIs (example: type\n`man git-log` in your terminal).\nThey use an old markup format called roff.\nThere’s a remark plugin, [`remark-man`][remark-man], that can serialize as roff.\nThe markdown,\n[more information is available in micromark’s readme][micromark-extend].\n\n## Syntax tree\n\nThe syntax tree format used in remark is [mdast][].\n\n## Types\n\nThis package is fully typed with [TypeScript][].\nThere are no extra exported types.\n\n## Compatibility\n\nProjects maintained by the unified collective are compatible with all maintained\nversions of Node.js.\nAs of now, that is Node.js 12.20+, 14.14+, and 16.0+.\nOur projects sometimes work with older versions, but this is not guaranteed.\n\n## Security\n\nAs markdown can be turned into HTML and improper use of HTML can
